The All Too Common Question
At Bellevue Chiropractic Associates I have the pleasure of helping patients re-take control of their health on a daily basis. Many of you have shared your New Year’s Resolutions for a healthier 2015 with me. To lose a few pounds, finish a half marathon, or simply keep up with your grandchildren. Regardless of age the same question keeps coming up “I’m feeling great and am looking to join a gym again…What do you think about CrossFit?”
My Standard Answer
No fitness program is going to be right for every person, at every period of their life. CrossFit’s approach to classic fitness principles has made some serious waves in the media for better and for worse. CrossFit gyms are independently owned by small business owners, so there is a lot of variety under the “CrossFit” brand. In the end, it depends not only on who you are, but also where you go…
My Fun Answer
Since you already shared your New Year’s resolution with me, I will trust mine with you. My 2015 New Year’s resolution is to break a sweat three times per week with CrossFit before work.
Curious…Skeptical?
This four part blog series will provide you with an insiders look into why I am starting CrossFit in the first place, how I choose the right CrossFit box, and what the first 30 days of CrossFit is like.
Wish me luck! Leave any questions you would like addressed in the comments section.
*Disclaimer- I wholeheartedly support the choice to increase your activity levels if you are ready to make a change, and I hope this blog series motivates many more people to make that same choice. However, it is important to note that you may have some limitations concerning what type(s) of exercise you can do based on current or past health issues. You should always consult with your physician prior to starting a new exercise program to ensure you are healthy enough to meet the increased demands placed on your body.
