Sangeon Shin, DC
My parents lived through the Korean War when they were young, and my father grew up as a war orphan. He survived day by day, going from house to house, begging for food. As Korea began to develop, so did his financial circumstances, slowly but steadily improving.
My younger sister was born with health issues, and my mother cared for her with unwavering devotion. When the doctors said she might not survive, my mother prayed to God, saying, ‘If you save my daughter, I will dedicate the rest of my life to helping others.’ Since then, my parents have consistently offered support to orphanages and others in need. Miraculously, my sister recovered and continues to live a healthy life to this day.
One day, my parents sat down to talk about my future. They said they didn’t care what career path I chose—as long as it was something that helped others. I kept their words close to my heart. While studying in the United States, I discovered a new sense of purpose and joy I hadn’t known before, and that journey eventually led me to complete the chiropractic program.
Now, as I see my patients find relief through my care, I feel a deep sense of fulfillment. Just as my father taught me to live with honesty and diligence, I strive to live by those values and pass them on to my own children as well

Treatment Approach
My goal is not to provide temporary relief that merely hides the patient’s pain. I always try to make the patient’s symptoms better. My clinical approach begins with a broad, comprehensive view—I focus on the ‘forest’ before narrowing in on individual ‘trees.’ I collect detailed patient information to determine the underlying cause of their pain. This includes taking a thorough history covering occupational demands, lifestyle habits, and dietary factors.
For instance, if a software engineer presents with cervical discomfort accompanied by mild paresthesia in the hands, I assess the condition within the context of prolonged postural stress related to occupational ergonomics. My treatment plan includes not only chiropractic adjustments, but also incorporates corrective exercises, appropriate therapeutic modalities, and soft tissue therapies to address both the symptoms and their root cause.
If I Wasn’t a Chiropractor
Before I became a chiropractor, I was a businessman. Just like my father, I wanted to become a successful entrepreneur following in his footsteps.
